University City High School Stadium

When it came time for a much-needed update to the Centurions’ football and track stadium, Ace was on the job to bring the finished product to life. The undertaking included a complete reconstruction of the field and stadium lighting featuring Musco Sports Lighting. We reconditioned the electrical system and extended it to the existing press box and concession buildings. Finally, we installed a new scoreboard and stadium sound system with the latest system technology.

Pioneer High School

Pioneer High’s need for sports lighting was massive in scope. So, naturally, Ace got the call. The project included the football field, track, home and visitor bleachers, press box, four baseball/softball fields, a 43,320 square-foot field house with comprehensive facilities. Ace provided sports lighting, underground distribution, switchgear, building and site power and lighting, seismic requirements, PA and stadium sound systems, fire alarm, emergency generator, and voice/data/CATV cabling including a fiber backbone system.

El Cariso Park

Design Build Electrical for Restroom/ Concession Building, Path/Walkway and Musco Sports Lighting for a Los Angeles County Community Sports Park. This project is a design-build remodel to an existing sports complex developed by the Los Angeles County Parks. The sports complex included demolition, relighting of existing basketball courts, existing hand ball courts and existing sidewalks. The project also included a new concession and restroom building, new accessible sidewalks, a new football / soccer field and Musco Sports Lighting and a custom design playground area.

Chaparral High School

Chaparral High looked to expand their campus as well as their students’ minds with two new buildings (15,000 square feet), four new modular buildings (11,000 square feet) and a new parking lot addition. These new facilities included a 2,400 square-foot commercial kitchen and culinary arts classroom, as well as science, industrial, art, and technical classrooms. Ace provided extensive site work for panel feeders and new lighting, all of which was completed within the aggressive summer schedule, requiring zero impact for school schedule.

SDSU – Aztec Aquaplex

More than just a swimming pool, the Aztec Aquaplex is a multifaceted facility that bring athletics and academics to life. Ace provided custom lighting throughout the site, comprising a blend of pole lights, wall lights, and custom floor lights for building exteriors and pathways. The project scope comprised a collegiate competitive swimming pool, recovery spa, three-meter diving board, scoreboard, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and educational areas with large classroom seating and retractable educational boards.

Patrick Henry High School Stadium

Ace Electric contracted directly with San Diego Unified School District to remove the old sports lighting and install four new poles at Chris’ alma mater, the Patriots. This project was especially challenging due to the solid granite hillside that the new foundations were embedded in. Ace drilled for 11 straight days through 20 feet of granite to reach depth and install the new concrete piers.

San Diego International Airport Parking Lots

The busiest single-runway commercial airport in the nation, San Diego International Airport brings the city to life with 48,000 passengers a day. Many of those passengers leave their cars behind. To update lighting for various parking lots containing these cars, Ace was tasked to plan and execute a four-phase project to supply electrical infrastructure and LED lighting. Four separate lots comprised the project, including San Park 2, Lot 8, Lot 6 and relocation of the Cellphone Lot.

Quintiles

The world’s largest provider of biopharmaceutical development and commercial outsourcing services, Quintiles was looking to enliven their San Diego with enhanced lighting and electrical distribution. Ace brought the project to life with custom imported finishes, fixtures, and furnishings. The selected fixtures accentuated interior architectural details of the space. Kitchen areas were outfitted with custom-skinned, ceiling-hung canopy fixtures. Custom installation of branch wiring allowed for central desk locations in several offices.

Olympian High School

Sweetwater Union High School District entrusted Ace Electric and Byrom-Davey to renovate their football stadium into a new state of the art facility for their Olympian High School Eagles. Ace installed 2 new sports lighting poles, performed a LED retrofit on 6 existing poles, and upgraded the existing electrical infrastructure.

Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College

Since 1961, the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District has enhanced the quality of East County life by providing a top notch, affordable education. The 1,138-square-mile district includes two colleges, Grossmont and Cuyamaca. Ace was tasked with providing site lighting, an electrical infrastructure upgrade, and emergency power system on both campuses. Over the course of nine months while school was in session, the project included over 40,000 feet of trench, conduit, wire, and trench repair including sidewalk and pavement replacement.
